The art and science of blending spirits is what defines the flavour profile of many of our beloved whiskies and rums. In this in-depth masterclass, we guide you through the intricacies of blending, using tools and apparatuses to help us discover how flavours intertwine.

Unleash Your Inner Alchemist

A blending masterclass unlike any others, we glean lessons from the worlds of whisky and rum and apply it through a Southeast Asia lens. Using aged spirits produced from gula melaka, molasses, honey, and rice, we first understand how base spirits are manufactured, before understanding them through our senses of smell and taste. Then be guided along the practical aspects of blending and learn its best practices, before coming up with multiple blends and eventually arriving at your own unique concoction.

Flavor Exploration

We’ll use specialized tools and apparatus to dissect and analyze the characteristics that each type of spirit brings to the table. Understand how flavors meld and balance each other out, and what makes for a harmonious blend.

Guided Blending:

Under the expert guidance of our skilled instructors, you’ll learn to mix different spirits to create your own unique blend. Discover the alchemy of combining various aged spirits, each contributing its own note to the melody of the blend.

Hands-On Practice

This is where theory meets practice. Using pipettes, measuring cylinders, and other blending tools, you’ll get a hands-on experience that mimics the work of professional blenders in the industry

Sensory Evaluation

After crafting your blend, the most rewarding part follows—tasting. Sip and savor your creation, identifying the subtle flavors that your blend brings out, all while gaining a deeper appreciation for the art form that is spirit blending
